Our townhome is an older property in original condition, located on a very quiet street in the Northern section of Uptown near the West Village Entertainment area.... close to everything. The neighborhood we are in is on a beautiful tree lined street. The property has a very casual retro modern feel and is fully furnished. Several famous local artists live near by and have actually lived in our property before we purchased it. Plus we are PET FRIENDLY!! Yes, pets can stay here and many have.
The space
It has a spacious open floor plan plus it is very bright and airy. It is a two (2) story (floors) configuration with relatively steep stairs leading up to the second floor. It includes all of the amenities needed to make your stay comfortable and at home. As such, we also have an additional queen size inflatable air mattress that you are free to use if needed.
Guest access
Feel free to access the entire townhouse including a secluded private wooded courtyard, and secure garage for economy to midsize vehicle. You also have direct access to the "Katy Trail" through a keypad coded gate from our property.
Interaction with guests
Access to the town house is fully automated, meaning that you can come and go as you see fit without having to schedule a meeting time with the hosts (us) to get a key and let you in like some other AirBnB properties require. We have installed keyless entry WiFi enabled door locks on the front and back doors. The cool thing about these door locks is that they are integrated directly with AirBnB's reservation system API. Once you confirm your reservation through AirBnB's reservation system you SHOULD receive a unique 4 digit door code for your use during your reservation time period. The beauty of this technology is that our house is completely self-serve in that you can arrive and depart at your leisure. The added bonus is that you don't have to worry about keeping track of a key!
In the odd case that you do NOT receive this 4 digit code via email, please let us know and we can provide it to you on the fly. Also, if you get to the property and your code is not working for whatever reason, please call us immediately and we can unlock the door remotely for you or provide you with a temp PIN code.
Additionally, we will be more than happy to give you assistance or ideas of cool things to do. We will also attempt to send you a personal guide book and house manual we created covering many good things to see, do, and eat that we have personally vetted. If you do not receive it after booking, please remind us to send it! This same info is also available in the AirBnB phone app.
Other things to note
We LOVE PETS!! We are huge pet lovers and appreciate how important it is to find a place while travelling with pets that understands this fact. We have many guests that bring there pets with them to happily stay in our townhouse. As such, there is always the possibility that if you look hard enough you may find footprints in the back yard or a stray hair somewhere in a a weird spot that our dutiful house keeper may have missed during her turnover cleanings. Remember this is also our 2nd home and not a hotel (my family stays here too with our big hairy labrador when we are in Dallas and it is not booked). We try our very best to thoroughly vacuum, clean, and sanitize everything before and for your stay, but sometimes a spot or two may get accidentally missed. If you have animal allergies or other related concerns, please keep all of these facts in mind when confirming your reservation in our townhouse.
My notes about the Katy Trail :
The vibe of the Katy Trail is amazing. People are walking, running, riding their bikes, roller blading and walking their dogs. There's plenty of room to pass people, run at your own pace, and not feel like you're on top of everyone else. Such a fun place to be. Love Katy Trails! It is surrounded by the planted trees and plants, it's wonderful to walk, bike, run, rollerblade, or simply stroll on this trail! The scenery changes from season to season; actually from day to day! When it's a gorgeous day, the trail is always crowded; yet during these sizzling hot summer days, I have the trail for my very own most times! On a Saturday morning let me tell you, this trail is packed with people. Great people watching for sure! There are also a few restaurants and pubs that are attached to the trail as well. There's always something new I notice each time I am here! Nature opening my hearing, seeing, smelling, and feeling senses to their utmost!
There are also several Dallas Trolley Stops that are very close to several various Katy Trail access points.
